This assignment enables students to apply rules and conventions of grammar, word choice, punctuation, and spelling in a variety of sentence structures; adopt and employ a flexible, multi-step, and recursive writing process that includes prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and proofreading, while making use of written and oral feedback; and write academic essays through multiple drafts that consist of logically-sequenced paragraphs including an engaging introduction, a supportive body, and a conclusion that effectively ends the composition.

Students will choose one of the four major writing assignments completed for this class to edit and proofread. Students will incorporate feedback from the instructor and peers as necessary. Students will edit content, make line edits, copy edit for common grammatical errors, and complete a final proofreading of the edited essay. Submit the edited essay as a Word document file in MLA format with the completed edits highlighted in yellow in each paragraph.
